Doug Jackson, 18, of Princeton, died Dec. 24 from injuries received in a one-vehicle accident near Princeton. He was a machine operator at Diversified Plastics in Kuttawa.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 28 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lyon County.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, James and Betty Jackson of Caldwell County; his mother and stepfather Mary and Dwayne Larkins of Eddyville; maternal grandmother, Virginia Curry of Eddyville; paternal grandmother, Maude Teague of Princeton; step-grandfather, Luther Ramage of Princeton; two brothers, James Lee Jackson of Eddyville and Andrew Jackson of Eddyville; three sisters, Jessica Jackson of Eddyville, Margaret Mason of Princeton and Melissa Lundstrom of Caldwell County; and several nieces and nephews.

Dunkerson
Warren G. Dunkerson, 79, of Paducah, died Dec. 26 at Western Baptist Hospital.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Normandy Invasion, and was a maintenance mechanic at Air Products for 27 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Vernelle Phillips Dunkerson of Paducah; two daughters, Vicki Madison of Calvert City and Melanie Blankenship of Paducah; a brother, G.W. Dunkerson of Burna; four sisters, Lavern Sanders of Cleveland, Ohio, Joyce McMican of Richland, Ind., Bessie Barnes of Salem and Nona Lee Davis of Joliet, Ill.; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nona Kanipe Dunkerson; four brothers; a sister; and a son.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 28 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Beals officiating. Burial in Dyer Hill Cemetery.

Cochran
Funeral services for Gladys Irene Cochran, 91, of Lincoln, Ill., formerly of Crittenden County, were held Dec. 27 at First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln County.

Cochran died Dec. 24 at Christian Village Nursing Home. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Rosiclare and Elizabethtown, Ill. She was a member of First Baptist church in Elizabethtown, Ill.

She is survived by a son, Michael Cochran of Belleville, Ill.; and a daughter, Patricia Baker of Lincoln, Ill.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Lamb and her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist church of Elizabethtown, Ill., or to the Lincoln Public Library in Lincoln.

Putnel
A.C. Putnel, 83, of Fort Meade, Fla., formerly of Kentucky, died Dec. 12 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland.

He was a retired boilermaker and served in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, France Putnel of Fort Meade; a son, C. Wayne Putnel of Fort Meade; two daughters, Frances Jean Carrero of Winter Park, Fla., and Sylvia Joanne Messer of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; a brother, Charlie Putnel of Willow Oak, Fla.; three sisters, Christine Lewis of Willow Park and June Larock and Edna Mojean Fowler, both of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at McLean Funeral Home Dec. 14 with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade.

Hardesty
Funeral services for Marilyn Hardesty, 63, of Marion, were held Dec. 15 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Joe Collins officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Franklin Hardesty of Marion; two daughters, Sharilyn Villanueva of Atlanta and Lorine Marilyn Collins of Huntington, Tenn.; two sons, Kenneth Hardesty of Marion and James Hardesty of Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Willard Armstrong and Garnet Armstrong, both of San Leandro, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Her parents were Everet and Mary Norton Armstrong.

Sailors
Viola Sailors, 78, of Crown Point, Ind., formerly of Livingston County, died Dec. 13 at her home. She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans' Auxiliary.

Surviving are three sons, James Dickerson of Griffith, Ind., Joe Dickerson of Crown Point, Ind., and Randy Dickerson of Lancaster, Calif.; two daughters, Donna McAvene of Covington, and Janie Clarke of Glouester, Va.; two stepsons, Dave Sailors of Dallas and Bobby Dickerson of Marion; a brother, Lyman Mitchell of Cleveland, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.W. Sailors.

Arflack
William "Clifton" Arflack, 77, of Marion, died Dec. 8 at Crittenden Hospital. He was retired from Moore Business Forms in Marion.

Surviving are two sons, Billy Arflack of Marion and Ricky Arflack of Rainbow City, Ala.; a daughter, Sherri Farris of Paducah; two brothers, Edward Bond of Winchester, Ind., and Carlos Bond of Marion; three sisters, Evelyn Rorer, Juanita Bebout and Geraldine Hunt, all of Marion; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Arflack, and his parents, Homer and Lizzie Bond.

Williams
Rev. Bob C. Williams, 83, of Princeton, died Dec. 6 at his home. He was a Baptist minister.

Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Steele of Hopkinsville and Loraine Williams of Vidor, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Williams, and a brother, Wilson Williams.

Jasis
Peter Gregory Jasis, 83, of Dycusburg, died Nov. 30 at Crittenden Hospital.

He was a retired mechanical engineer from American Steel Company with 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Eddyville and was a 25-year member of Dycusburg Masonic Lodge #232 in Dycusburg.

Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Rev. Maurice Tiell officiating. Burial was in Dycusburg Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Pearl Margaret Jasis; two sons, Peter Jasis, Jr., of Bellville, Texas and Byron A. Jasis of Dycusburg; two daughters, Pearl Dowling of Bloomington, Ind., and Lynette Jasis of Silver Springs, Md.; a sister, Katy Roback of Munster, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

Tosh
Ruby Tosh, 86, of Marion, died Dec. 7 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa.

She was a member of Frances Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Sue Tosh of Kuttawa; two stepsons, W.L. Simpkins and Billy Simpkins, both of Evansville; a brother, Virgil Fuller of Crown Point, Ind,; three sisters, Hazel Miles of Nashville, Marjorie Fox of Travers City, Mich., and Mary Applegate of Princeton, N.J.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Linon Simpkins, and her second husband, Ezra Tosh, and a daughter, Phylis Phillips.

Cobb
Wanda Cobb, 58, of Burna, died Dec. 8 at Salem Springlake Care Center. Funeral services were Dec. 11 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Hollaman and Rev. Loyd Harris officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Irvin Cobb of Burna; a son, Junior Cobb of Burna; two daughters, Linda Cobb and Leslie Cobb, both of Burna; a sister, Dorthy Hardin of Burna; three brothers, Jimmy Head and Charles Reed, both of Salem, and Everett Reed of Burna; and one grandchild.

Howard
Funeral services for Mae Howard, 85, of Marion, were Dec. 11 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Phillips officiated with burial in Mexico Cemetery.

Howard died Dec. 8 at Crittenden County Convalescent center. She was a member of the Marion Chapter of Eastern Star.

Surviving are a daughter, Janie Villobos of Itasca, Ill.; four sons, Bruce Howard and Bobby Howard, both of Marion, Curtis Howard of Lombard, Ill., and Lonnie Howard of Salem; a sister, Fada Owen of Paducah; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kellie Howard, and two sons, Donald Howard and Kenneth Howard.

Jessie
Travis Wayne Jessie, infant son of Trevor and Jacqueline Jessie of Louisville, died Dec. 1 at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

Other survivors include his grandparents, Don and Bonita Travis of Marion; Joyce Williamson of Eddyville; and Rondell and Kay Jessie of Springfield, Ohio.

Great-grandmothers are Edith Thornbury of Louisville and Martha Robertson of Princeton.

Burial and arrangements were at Resthaven Memorial in Louisville.

Pugh
Mary Dale Pugh, 73, of Burna, died Nov. 29 at Lourdes Hospital.

Surviving are four daughters, Rita Shekell of Smithland, Sheila Bishop of Smithland, Sandra Crowley of Ledbetter and Victoria Dale Glore of Lola; a sister in of Arizona; three brothers, Charles Adams of Marion, C.V. Adams of Jasper, Ind., and Rudell Adams of Salem; two sons, Bobby Pugh of Evansville and Mike Pugh of Burna; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hardesty officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.

Hazzard
L.C. Hazzard, 83, of Marion, died Dec. 4 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Marion General Baptist Church.

Hazzard was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and saw action at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Dec. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Nicky Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rosebud Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Christine Hazzard of Marion; a son, Ed Hazzard of Madisonville; two stepdaughters, Mary Rice of Barlow and Virginia Zimmer of Cincinnati; a brother, Roy Hazzard of Marion; a sister, Verble Woodside of Marion; a niece, Pearl Swift of Eddyville and a nephew, Franklin Hazzard of Princeton.

Berry
Funeral services for Linda Berry, 54, of Salem, were held Dec. 6 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Berry died Dec. 3 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll Berry of Salem; three sons, Wesley Berry and Todd Berry, both of Salem, and Jason Berry of Marion; her mother, Freda Woodward of Salem; a brother, Mike Woodward of Sturgis; a sister, Teresa Hamilton of Owensboro; and four grandsons, Austin Berry, Aaron Berry, Brian Berry and Matt Berry.

Mattingly
Corene Gatewood Mattingly, 79, of Crittenden County, formerly of Evansville, died Dec. 2 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

She was employed at the St. Vincent DePaul Store and was an active volunteer for CAPE Head Start.

Surviving are three daughters, Martha Kares and Helen Hall, both of Marion, and Tracy Like of Vincennes, Ind.; two sons, Charles E. Gatewood of Evansville and Lt. Donald R. Gatewood, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Stuttgart, Germany; a sister, Emma Hargrove White of Marion; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, William J. Rogers II.

Services were held Dec. 6 at Pierre Funeral Home with Rev. Frank McCallum officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Callaway
Janice Voss Callaway, 63, of Sturgis, died Nov. 25 at her home.

Callaway was the first Union County Fair Queen in 1941 and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.

She is survived by Bill Tom Calloway, her husband of 43 years; two sons, Craig Callaway of Indianapolis and Mark Callaway of Sturgis; a brother, Jack Voss of Marion; her mother-in-law, Amelia Callaway of Sturgis; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Nov. 28 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Rebecca Salisbury officiating. Burial was in Phytlan Ridge Cemetery.

Loyd
William B. Loyd, 78, of Marion, died Nov. 28.

He was a member of the American Legion Post III and Marion United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet Kemper of Marion and Elizabeth L. Buckalew of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, William T. Loyd of Columbus, Ohio and Paul Dwight Loyd of Marion; a brother, Charles F. Loyd of Falls Church, Va.; a sister, Marilyn Hill of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann, who died in August.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Dec. 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey and Rev. Charles Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

Vinina Lee Brown, 76, of Villa Hills, formerly of Crittenden County, died Nov. 22 at her family's homeplace in Crittenden County.

Survivors include her friend, Harry Marksberry of Covington;a brother, Jim Brown of Marion; three sisters, Erma House of Eddyville, Mary Kaelin of Elanger and Faye Hall of Eddyville; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from northern Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pearl Polk Brown, and a brother, Rodney Brown.

Phelps
Mary Lou (Gray) Phelps, 78, of Marion, died Nov. 23 at Crittenden Hospital.

She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former bookkeeper for Runyan Chevrolet Co., and Johnson's Furniture.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene Phelps of Marion; a son, Ronald Phelps of Henderson; a daughter, Melinda Walker of Cave In Rock, Ill.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Tyner
Esther Tyner, 86, of Marion, died Nov. 22 at her home.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ebb Bettis, Jr.

Watson
James Watson, 82, of Marion, died Nov. 23 at Crittenden Hospital.

He is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Belt of Marion; two sons, Jack Watson of Alabama and Stanley F. Watson of Jolett, Ill.; a sister, Marie Watson of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services were held Nov. 25 at Freedom Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Hix and Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.

Brazell
Funeral services for Douglas "Gene" Brazell, 74, of Marion, were held Nov. 25 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. J.B. Rodgers and Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery.

Brazell died Nov. 22 at Lourdes Hospital at Paducah.

He was a member and Sunday school teacher at Hurricane Methodist Church, a retired farmer and World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post #217.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Sue Brazell of Marion; three sons, Mike Brazell of Darlington, Fla., John Brazell of Tolu and David Brazell of Eddyville; a daughter, Sue Ellen Brazell of Camarillo, Calif.; a brother, Lloyd Brazell, Jr., of Tolu; a stepson, Marty Allen of Nashville; three stepdaughters, Malissia Abell and Michelle Giles, both of Bandana, Ky., and Cindi Egner of Covington, Ga.; four grandchildren; and 12 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Brazell; his second wife, Margaret Lynn Wright Carnahan Brazell; and his parents, Lloyd and Molly Myrle Brazell.

Critoph
Treen H. Critoph, 77, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Marion, died Nov. 20 at her home. She was a machine operator for Ametek in Marion. She was of Baptist faith.

Critoph is survived by three daughters, Pat Rice of Greenville, S.C., Gail Vinson of Murray and Shirley Goodman of Lakeland, Fla.; three sons, Bill Adams, Michael Adams and Johnny Adams, all of Bartow, Fla.; three sisters, Estes Taylors and Velma Miller, both of Paducah, and France Putnel of Fort Meade, Fla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Wallace Adams, and her second husband, Gordon Critoph.

Koltveit
M. Rudolph Koltveit, 85, of Pontiac, Ill., died Nov. 16 at Livingston Manor Nursing Home in Pontiac.

He was a farmer and was retired from Seibert, Inc., in Cheona, Ill., with 26 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Wilson Koltveit; three sons, Kenneth C. Koltveit, Sr., of Benton and William Andrew Koltveit of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Arthur Koltveit of Streator, Ill.; four daughters, Sharon Meyers of Pontiac, Rose Mary Koltveit of Casa Grande, Ariz., Patricia Taggart of Hazel Dell, Ill., and Joan M. Hughes of Fredonia; a half brother, Albert Koltveit, Jr., of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Esther Defenbaugh of Manville; 22 grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and five grandchildren. His parents were Agnes Jacobson and olaf Koltveit.

Mayes
Georgia Pauline Mayes, 88, of Paducah, formerly of Marion, died Nov. 19 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was of Methodist faith, was a past Worthy Matron of Grand Rivers Chapter #484 Order of Eastern Star, a Kentucky Colonel and Dutchess of Paducah.

Survivors include a son, Michael S. Mayes of Paducah; two sisters, Grace Blair of Owensboro and Virgie Reisinger of Lexington; two brothers, G.E. Arflack of Owensboro and William E. Arflack of Marion; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Mayes; a son, Ronald Mayes; and a daughter, Jerri Hadfield.

Funeral services were held Nov. 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Brantley officiating. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.

Herrin
Funeral services for Charles S. Herrin, 74, of Evansville, formerly of Marion, were held Oct. 19 at Grace Baptist Church in Evansville, where he was a deacon and active in Sunday school work.

Herrin died in an auto accident Oct. 17 in Evansville.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Adele B. Herrin of Evansville; two sons, Roger Herrin of Evansville and Rick Herrin of Nashville; a stepdaughter, Pam Heseman of Evansville; a stepson, Dan Armstrong of Evansville; two sisters, Faye Nelson and Frances McConnell, both of Evansville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys, with whom he lived in Crittenden County the first years of their marriage. His parents were Della and Calvin Herrin of Marion.

Corley
Opal Jane Corley, 86, of Marion, died Nov. 18 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

Surviving are a sister, Lillian Corley of Marion; two grandsons, Kent Crider of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Stephen Crider of Marion; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Corley, and a daughter, Beauton Crider.

Newman Herring, 84, of Eddyville, died Nov. 14 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Herring of Eddyville and David Herring of Madisonville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, O.B. Herring, Jr., of Kuttawa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhea Sadler Herring; a brother, William N. "Bill" Herring; and his parents, O.B. and Mary Katherine Waters Herring.

Guy Allen Lowery, 89, of Marion, died Nov. 16 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.

Linvel O. Belt, 78, of Chicago, died Nov. 14 at Christ Hospital in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II.

Doom
Lawrence Doom, 75, of Salem, died Nov. 14 at his home. He was retired from McLean Trucking Co.; a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church; a World War II veteran, serving with the 42nd Rainbow Division in Europe. He earned a bronze star, and was a member of Findlarer Masonic Lodge #475 of Dearborn, Mich.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ann Pace Doom; a son, Larry Pace Doom of Salem; and four sisters, Martha Maxfield of Cadiz, Hazel Guess of Marion, Shirley Smith of St. Peters, Mo., and Marge Sumner of Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Doom and Iva Doom.

Sisley
Graveside services for Margaret Duffy Sisley, 94, of Marion, were held Nov. 10. Sisley died Nov. 6 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

Surviving are one son, Harry Leslie of Marion; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Treva Leslie King.

Walker
Annis Lee Walker, 82, of Clay, died Nov. 8 at her home. She was a member of Rocksprings Baptist Church in Wheatcroft.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Grace Baptist Church in Clay with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Linvel O. Belt, 78, of Chicago, formerly of Crittenden County, died Nov. 14 at Christ Hospital in Oaklawn, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II and the boilermakers' union for 35 years. He was employed by Standard Boiler & Tank.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy S. Belt of Chicago two daughters, Beverly Phillips of Lockport, Ill., and Judy Schiesser of Colorado; a son, David Belt of Palos Hills, Ill.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

His parents were Claude and Eva Belt of Crittenden County. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Belt and J.C. Belt.

George Thomas Curnel, 74, of Marion, died Nov. 3 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church.

Babbs died Nov. 2 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.

Babbs was a retired farmer and veteran of World War II.

Patricia Ann Gilmore Gadomski, 53, of Marion, died Nov. 6 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Roman Gadomski of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Patricia Rempp, also of Philadelphia; and three grandchildren.

Norbit "Rat" Stalion, 79, of Marion, died Oct. 17 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Glendale General Baptist Church.

Arthur A. Ahlborn, 74, of Lake Orion, Mich., died Oct. 11 age ;

Survivors include his wife, Eva Gene Ahlborn; three sons, Michael Ahlborn of Auburn Hills, Mich., David Ahlborn of Lake Orion, Mich., Larry Ahlborn of Oxford, Mich., and Ted Ahlborn, also of Oxford; and five grandchildren.

Ahlborn was raised in Salem, and retired from Sunburg-Farar Company in Michigan. He was a member of Lake Orion Masonic Lodge #46, Shriner's, N.R.A., and American Legion Post 162, Luzerne, Mich. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II.

Gladys Irene Whitham, 95, of Salem, Ill., died Oct. 15 at the Public Hospital of the Town of Salem.

She was born in Crittenden County, the daughter of James Bristow and Flossie Farmer Hughes.

Whitham was a homemaker and member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem, Ill., and she was a member of the Eastern Star and Senior Citizens.

Kiah Robert "Ki Rock" Winstead, 80, of Madisonville, died Oct. 17. He was owner and operator of Ki Rocks Barbecue for more than 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville.

David Bennett, 75, of Eddyville, died Oct. 1 at the V.A. Hospital in Marion, Ill.

Bennett was a retired machinist from Gates Rubber Company in Rockford, Ill., and a self-employed machinist following retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Baith of Eddyville; two sons, David Bennett, Jr., of Fayetteville, N.C., and John Bennett of Bonnie, Ill.; a daughter, Lona Barton of Pensacola; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Charles Bennett of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jesse Bennett of Henderson; and a half-sister, Verna Eastwood of Sturgis.

Barnett
Evert "Bobo" Barnett, 95, of Eddyville, died Sept. 30 at Caldwell County Hospital.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Randy Barnett of Eddyville, Andy Barnett of Kuttawa and Rhonda Riley of Mayfield; a brother, George Barnett of Eddyville; and seven great-grandchildren.

Barnett was a retired carpenter and farmer and member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Eddyville. He also was a 58-year member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #167 in Eddyville.

Dorothy Nell McCune Grimes, 86, of Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., formerly of Salem, died Sept. 29.

Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Jean Gonzalez of Marietta, Ga., Carolyn Gallagher of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Jewell Johnson of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; a sister, Lois Stallions Ridings of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and three nieces, Jackie Myrick, Jane Slayden and Doris Ann Henry, all of Salem.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene Grimes.

William Dalton Hicks, 72, of Marion, died Sept. 24.

Everett Albert Edmonds, 94, formerly of Livingston County died Sept. 26 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a retired Livingston County farmer and a Kentucky Highway Department worker. He was the oldest member of Dyer Hill Baptist Church where he served as deacon.

Surviving are a son, Jim Edmonds of Ledbetter; four daughters, Sue Boone of Evansville, Betty Babb of Kevil, Nancy Cooper of Ledbetter and Carolyn Jones of Springfield, Tenn.; two nieces; two nephews; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah C. Hendrick Edmonds; a brother; five sisters; four nieces; and a nephew. His parents were Albert Sidney and Anna Charlotte "Lottie" Litton Edmonds.

Lipscomb
Former Marion Mayor Samuel A. Lipscomb Sr., 77, of Maceo, died Sept. 21 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems.

He was a retired western Kentucky sales representative for Commerce Clearing House.

He attended Century Christian Church and was mayor of Marion in the 1961-1969. He was a member of Grand Lodge of Kentucky F&AM; Bigham Lodge #256; Rizpah Temple AAONMS of Madisonville; and was a Shriner Clown. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Bland Lipscomb; a son, Samuel Allen "Jay" Lipscomb Jr, of Park Ridge, Ill.; a daughter, Kathy Ranburger of Owensboro; and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sept. 23 at James H. Davis Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Garden.

Betz
John Adam Betz, Sr., 72, of the Farmersville community, died Sept. 14 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Betz was a retired machinist with the Whirlpool Corp., in Evansville after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Bonifaces Catholic Church in Evansville and attended Donaldson Baptist Church in Caldwell County.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Sue Kniffen-Killian Betz; six sons, John Adam Betz, Jr., Danny Ray Betz and Gregory Betz, all of Evansville, Terry Wayne Betz of Louisville and Robbie Joseph Betz of Indianapolis; three daughters, Joanie Lynn Goode of Evansville, Tamara Renee Johnson of Bedford, Ind., and Kristi Ann Chaidez of Ft. Drum, N.Y.; two brothers, Donnie Betz and Billy Ray Betz of Evansville; two sisters, Barbara Ann Lipscomb of Eddyville and Nancy Sue Stricker of Evansville; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Truitt
Funeral services for Mildred McKinley Truitt, 80, of Owensboro, were held Sept. 18 at Glenn Funeral home in Owensboro. Truitt, who was raised in Crittenden County, died Sept. 15 at her home. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of Stanley Methodist Church for 50 years until its closure. She was a homemaker and volunteered at the Elizabeth Mundy Senior Center.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Truitt of Memphis, Paul Truitt of Nashville and Joe Truitt of Owensboro; three daughters, Linda Miller of Holland, Mich., Karen DeWitt of Prospect and Brenda Jones of Puyallup, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evans Truitt.

Victor "Mack" Carter, 76, of Benton, formerly of Salem, died Aug. 22 at Western Baptist Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Dr. J.T. Parish officiated. Burial was in Marshall County Memorial Gardens.

Carter was a retired railcar inspector in northern Kentucky where he was employed most of his adult life.

James W. Towery, 82, of Providence, died Aug. 19 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. He was a retired coal miner from Island Creek Coal Company, a veteran of World War II and a charter member of VFW Post 5484.

Funeral services were held Aug. 22 at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in White Oak Cemetery in Webster County.

Glenn Parker, 73, of Salem, died Aug. 18 at Crittenden Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Parker of Salem; a sister, Joyce Boulds of Nickelville, N.Y.; and four stepchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Nora Tharrett Parker, and a brother, Joe Parker.

Butler
Al James Butler Jr., 76, formerly of Salem, died July 8 in Hot Springs, Ark. Butler was a 1941 graduate of Salem High School, a veteran of World War II and was retired after many years in the steel mills.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Butler, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; his stepmother, Thella Butler of Salem; and two brothers, Thomas Butler of Calvert City and Robert Butler of Hampton.

Butler was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Carter Butler, and his parents, Al James Butler Sr., and Pearl Teer Butler.

Cobb

Johnny H. Gobin, 64, of Providence, died Aug. 11 at his home. He was a farmer and retired from Island Creek. He was a member of General Baptist Church in Providence.

Gobin; two daughters, Johnetta Fritz of Clay and Shanda Belt of Madisonville; two sisters, Ruth Childress and Gayle Gobin, both of Providence; two brothers, Kenneth Gobin and Terry Gobin, both of Providence; four grandchildren, Jera Parson, John Parson, Billy Belt and Jacob Fritz.

Herrin
Edna Phelps Herrin, 78, of Providence, died Aug. 13 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She operated Edna's Fabric Shop in Providence for 10 years and she did custom sewing for many years. She was a member of White Oak General Baptist Church for over 57 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Jeannie Driver and Dorothy Hatler, both of Providence, and Martha Wheeler of Madisonville; two sons, Burley Herrin of Dieterick, Ill., and Emory Herrin of Morganfield; a sister, Nelda Phelps of Marion; two brothers, Eugene Phelps of Marion and Earl Phelps of Adamsville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gammon Herrin, and a brother, J.D. Phelps.

Hamilton
Funeral services for Lillian K. Hamilton, 70, of Marion, were held Aug. 15 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Hamilton, a member of Mexico Baptist church, died Aug. 13 at Crittenden Hospital.

Surviving are her husband, Marvin G. Hamilton of Marion; a son, David G. Hamilton of Owensboro; her mother, Sally Galusha of Marion; a sister, Margaret Bell of Eddyville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Opie Galusha, and a brother and a sister.

Diane Brown Hurley, 40, of Marion, died Aug. 4 at Lourdes Hospital at Paducah. She was a former plastics factory worker.

Wooley
Dorothy Wooley, 38, of Marion, died Aug. 4 at Crittenden Hospital.

She was a member of Marion Baptist church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and the first female licensed plumber in Crittenden County.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Wooley of Marion; three daughters, Tori Wooley at home, Amanda Wooley and Jessica Wooley of Texas; two sons, Scott Wooley at home and Jonathan Shephard of Texas; her parents, James and Merle Myers of Marion; a brother, Craig Myers of Bay Town, Texas; and two sisters, Vicki King of Marion and April Burnham of Dayton, Texas.

Visitation was held Aug. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home. A memorial service is being planned.

Tyner Hunt, 93, of Marion, died Aug. 3 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Sadie Hunt of Marion; two daughters, Doris Nesbitt of Marion and Shirley Griffin of Sebree; and two grandchildren.

Cleo Mitchell, 88, of Burna, died Aug. 2 at Medco Center of Paducah.

Nancy Willoughby, 40, of Las Vegas and formerly of Marion, died July 31 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents Glenn and Louise Willoughby of Mexico; a brother, James Willoughby of Dixon and a nephew.

J.H. Maxfield, 67, of Southgate, Mich., formerly of the Frances community, died July 27 at his home. He owned and operated D and E Truck Repair. He was a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church of Southgate.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Maxfield of Southgate; a daughter, Elaine of Southgate; a son, Michael of Southgate; a brother, Paul of Southgate; a sister, Darlene McFarland of Woodhaven, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a two brothers, Joseph Maxfield, Jr., and Archie Clinton Maxfield. His parents were Joseph and Irene Maxfield.

McGrew Pete Foster, 81, of Burna, died July 29 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of the Burna Community Fire Department and Burna American Legion Post 217. He was a veteran of World War II, an adjutant of Post 217 and a deacon of Hampton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Geneva McClure Foster; a brother, Mantz Foster of Reidland; three nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and his parents, Forrest and Fannie Hankins Foster.

Bonnie Vera Goodrum, 91, of Allen Park, Mich., formerly of Crittenden County, died July 26 at her home.

Mary Belle Holder, 88, of Marion, died July 23 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include seven daughters, Glenda Price of Shelbyville, Ill., Norma Peek of Dycusburg, Kathleen Matheny of Shelbyville, Ill., Gladys Hannis of Wanda, Ill., Bonnie Brooks of Decatur, Ill., and Naomi McClure and Maxine Matthews, both of Marion; a son, Billy Holder of Marion; a brother, William Martin Campbell of Marion; a sister, Ola Mae Holder of Marion; and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perce Holder; three daughters, Alice Gregory, Ruth Shewcraft and Marie Lynch; a son, Kerry Holder; her parents, Claud and Ada Belle Campbell; and five grandchildren.

McConnell
Funeral services for Charles Alton McConnell, 86, of Marion, were held July 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Bobby Hardison officiated. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.

McConnell died July 21 at Livingston Hospital. He was retired from the Crittenden County Road Department and was a member of Bigham Masonic Lodge No. 16. He was also a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by several cousins.

Woodall
Geneva Woodall, 81, formerly of Caldwell County, died July 23 at Hardin County Nursing Home in Savanah, Tenn.

She was a retired ward clerk at Caldwell County Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Walton E. Woodall of Fredonia and Denny Woodall of Marion; a daughter, Saundra Clift of Savanah, Tenn.; a sister, Roetta Martin of Henderson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walton E. Woodall, Sr. Her parents were Gilbert and Della Sheridan Sullivan.

D'Angelo
Frank D'Angelo, 69, of Marion, died July 19 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife Eva D'Angelo of Marion; a son, Mark Allen D'Angelo of Marion; a daughter, Sharon Glidden of Franklin Square, N.Y.; and one grandchild.

Reba Lois Hamilton, 88, of Marion, died July 25 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Hurricane Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Nelson of San Antonio, Texas; a son, John P. Hamilton of Marion; two sisters, Willie Boyd of Marion and Velda Belt of Alsip, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Kenneth C. Crotser, 67, of Hampton, died July 25 at Lourdes Hospital. He taught American History at Livingston Central High School and was assistant principal there for 20 years.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Rose Crotser of Reidland; a niece, Dawn Samson of Bradenton, Fla.; a nephew, Marty Crotser of Reidland; and two great-nephews.

Paul Guess, 65, of Panama City, Fla., formerly of Marion, died July 18 at his home.

Guess worked as a general contractor for 40 years. He was a member of St. Andrew's Baptist Chuch in Panama City.

Survivors include his wife, Rosetta Guess of Panama City; two daughters, Lavanda Holloman of Marion and Paula Cooper of Princeton; two sons, Ricky Guess of Bartlett, Tenn., and Randy Guess of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Tonya Stewart of Franklin; a stepson, Bartley Stewart of Tullaohma, Tenn.; a brother, Clifton Guess of Marion; six grandchildren; and serveral nieces and nephews.

Kimberlin
Elmer Kimberlin, 89, of Burna, died July 16 at Crittenden Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Kimberlin of Burna and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; a sister; three half brothers; and a half sister. His parents were Charles and Maudie Kimberlin.

Lynch
Ruby Elizabeth Lynch, 82, of Marion, died July 15 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a foster parent for a number of years, opening her home to more than 250 children.

Lynch was a member of Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Shady Grove Eastern Star Chapter No. 505, and White Shrine No. 20.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Lynch of Madisonville; three brothers, Lawrence Carter of Marion, Thea O. Carter of Pineville and Cecil Carter of Tazewell, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther. Her parents were Elizabeth and Henry Carter.

Sailors
Vernon Wilson Sailors, 85, of Paducah, died July 11 at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill.

He was the former owner of two trucking companies in Missouri and Florida. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge and belonged to the Boilermakers Union out of St. Louis.
Surviving are his wife, Viola Sailors of Paducah; a son, David Sailors of Dallas; four sisters, Mae Jeffers and Virginia Brown of Florida and Margie Sinclair and Faye Riedel of California; a brother, Ray Sailors of California; two stepsons, Joe Dickerson of Crown Point, Ind., Randy Dickerson of Lancaster, Calif., and Jimmy Dickerson of Griffith, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray Sailors. His parents were John Sailors and Fannie Black.

Velma Poindexter, 75, of Marion, died July 11 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Roy Edward Duffy of St. Louis and Darrell Duffy of Henderson; a sister, Dorothy Butler of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Poindexter.

Howerton
Funeral services for Clara Etta Stone Howerton, 86, of Marion, were held July 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Howerton died July 10 at Princeton Health Care Manor.

She was a graduate of Evansville College with a degree in elementary education. She taught in Crittenden County for 17 years, where she retired. She also lived in Evansville, where she worked at Servel for more than 20 years.

Survivors include a brother, Harold W. Stone of Princeton, W. Va.; a sister, Helen Jo Guess of Princeton; two nieces; a nephew; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; and one great-great niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Howerton; her parents, Virgil and Maymie Stone; and two nephews, Donald W. Guess and Carl L. Stone.

Rev. Philip Falk officiated the service, held at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Louis J. Cornish, 83, of Marion, died July 1 at his home. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Marion, and was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Houser Cornish of Marion; two daughters, Carol Reeves of Ithaca, N.Y., and Christina Cornish of Princeton; one stepson, Dean Miller of Detroit; a grandson, Barrett Cooper of Princeton; and two sisters, Elsie Wilson and Irene Walsh, both of Ithaca.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Cornish. His parents were Louis and Elsie Ronto Cornish.

Johnson
Robert Perry Johnson, 76, of Evansville, died July 2 at Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He was born in Crittenden County and resided in Evansville for more than 50 years.

Johnson was employed as an electronics technician with the Evansville Printing Corporation (Evansville Courier & Press) for 22 years and retired in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna S. Johnson of Jupiter, Fla.; his ex-wife, Sue Miller of Jupiter; a sister, Ruth Layman of Evansville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Malcolm Boone, 80, of Fredonia, died June 29 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a retired farmer.

Bragdon died June 26 at Hardin County Hospital.

Bragdon was a member of Potters Church in Cave In Rock and was pilot of the Cave In Rock ferry for several years.

Driver was a homemaker and member of Hebron Baptist Church in Lyon County.

Bradley "Brad" Shive, 36, of Sebree, died June 21 at his home.

Ada Lanham, 84, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Marion, died June 18 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center. She was a proof operator for Bank of Indiana.

Surviving are three sons, Charles W. Lanham of Oak Brook, Ill., Robert N. Lanham of Severville, Tenn., and Anthony C. Lanham of LaPorter, Ind.; two daughters, Dorothy Stallion-Bowman of Mercer County and Shirley Crawford of Duncanville, Texas; a brother, Earl P. Eskew of Marion; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Lanham. Her parents were Andrew Peyton and Harriett Elizabeth Kanady Eskew.

Funeral services for Joey Parker, 20 of Bessemer, Ala., will be held June 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

Parker died June 18 at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.

Surviving are his mother, Donna Parker of Marion; his father, Steve Parker of Cherokee, N.C.; two sisters, Angela Parker of Marion and Christy Parker of Cherokee; two brothers, Brian Parker and Jason Parker, both of Cherokee; his grandparents, James and Rosemary Farmer of Marion and a grandmother, Pauline Parker of Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Parker.

Thompson
Loraine Thompson, 85, of Paducah, died June 18 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher in McCracken and Livingston counties.

Surviving are a niece, Carolyn Brasher of Benton; two nephews, Wayne Phillips of Ledbetter and Rodney Phillips of Reidland; three stepdaughters, Marian McCaskill of Apopka, Fla., Elaine Barton of Winter Garden, Fla., and Joanne Monk of Centreville, Va.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Corbett Slayden and Carlos Thompson; a sister, Jewell Phillips; a brother, Robert Daily; two stepsons, Charles D. Slayden and Wayne Thompson; and her parents, James D. and Laura Mae Daily.

Cox
Funeral services for Henry Allen Cox, 78, of Marion, were held June 19 at Tyners Chapel Church. Rev. Robert Phillips, Rev. Walzie Hosick and Rev. Louis Mayden officiated. Burial was in Tyners Chapel Cemetery.

Cox died June 16 at his home. He was a member of Tyners Chapel Church, was retired from LTV Steel Corporation and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Cox of Marion; two daughters, Darlene King of Salem and Gwen Mayden of Hebron, Ind.; a son, James Cox of Marion; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bellar
Melven E. Bellar, 90, of Marion, died June 14 at Salem Springlake Nursing Home. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Bellar of Bell Buckle, Tenn., and Jim Bellar of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Rosalea Koon of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandsons; and a great-grandson, Nathan Bellar of Lakeland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Bellar; and four sisters, Geneva Humphry, Felna Harrelson, Virginia Shewmaker and Fleta Gass. Her parents were James and Macy Champion.

Arflack
James Harold Arflack, 90, of Marion, died June 11 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Rosebud Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Wendell Arflack of Marion, Fred Arflack and Dan Arflack, both of St. Louis; a daughter, Janet Thomas of Marion; three sisters, Grace Blair of Owensboro, Virgie Reisinger of Lexington and Pauline Mays of Paducah; two brothers, G.E. Arflack of Owensboro and William E. Arflack of Marion; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Arflack, and two daughters, Sandra Belt and Patricia Arflack.

Virgil "Bud" Orr, 86, of Marion, died June 13 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church, was a retired postal worker and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Riddle, former sheriff, dies
James R. Riddle, 68, of Marion, died June 13 at Crittenden Hospital.

He was a member and deacon of Marion Second Baptist Church and Southern Baptist Association and was a former Crittenden County Sheriff.

Surviving are his wife, Loeta Riddle of Marion; a daughter, Terry Joe Reed of Marion; five brothers, Leon Riddle, Harold Riddle, Howard Riddle, Darrell Riddle and Kenneth Riddle, all of Weston, West Va.; a sister, Lelah Ocheltree of Weston, W. Va.; and a grandson, Bobby Reed of Marion.

Jean Guess Clevidence, 63, of Uniontown, formerly of Marion, died June 5 at Owensboro Mercy Health Systems.

She was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church and a member of the church's WMU.

Surviving are her husband, Vernon Clevidence of Uniontown; three daughters, Pat Acker, Sebrenia Toney and Tammy Turner, all of Uniontown; four sons, Dennis Clevidence, Eddie Clevidence, Gregg Clevidence and Joey Clevidence, all of Uniontown; three sisters, Clara Bell Brown and Edna Kennif, both of Marion, and Elaine Brasher of Indiana; two brothers, Aubrey Guess Jr., and Raymond Guess, both of Marion; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Joseph Mac Blackburn, 80, of Fredonia, died June 4 at Salem Springlake Care Center.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was also a retired truck driver. He was a member of Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the American Legion.

Ladd

Ladd died June 3 at her home. She was a retired nurse's aid at Calvert City Convalescent Center.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Willie Asher of Princeton; two sons, David Ladd of Gilbertsville and Wallace Ladd of St. Genevieve, Mo.; two daughters, Kathy Tubbs and Teresa Atwood, both of Grand Rivers; two brothers, Henry Asher of Princeton and Kenneth Asher of Murray; two sisters, Edna Brasher of Fredonia and Carolyn Beckner of Caldwell County; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ladd was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Ladd, and her father, George Randolph Barnes.

Nelda Jean Faughn Travis, 68, of Princeton, died June 3 at Crittenden Hospital.
She was a retired sales clerk at Famous-Barr Dry Goods Store and a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church in Crittenden County.

Surviving are her husband, Carter L. Travis; a brother, Larry Faughn of Princeton; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gayle Wayne Travis. Her parents were O.O. and Lattie Holt Faughn.

Henry
Funeral services for Patricia Henry, 58, of Princeton, were held June 3 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville. Rev. Victor Hill and Rev. Jim Baggett officiated. Burial was in Dycusburg Cemetery.

She died June 1 at Caldwell County Hospital.

Henry was born in Lyon County, the daughter of Clyde Melton Sr., and Gertie Davenport Melton. She was a retired business manager for a doctor's group in Little Rock, Ar., and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Malcom Henry; two sons, Andy Henry of Dawson Springs and Todd Henry of Princeton; a brother, Jerry Melton of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Johnson of Fredonia; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Natalie Danielle Graham, the infant daughter of Nathan Earl and Stefanie Hancock Graham of Marion, died June 2 at Western Baptist Hospital.

Nancy Ann Pritchett Walker, 55, of Marion, died May 20 at Crittenden Hospital.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, the Marion United Methodist Church and the National Respiratory Board of Care. She was a certified respiratory therapist.

Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Hyatt of Evansville and Angela Walker Owen of Marion; a son, Chad Walker of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; her mother, Kathryn Pritchett of Corydon; a sister, Sue P. Thomas of Gillette, Wyom.; and two grandchildren.

Rev. J.D. Phelps, 82, of Gadsden, Ala., formerly of Marion, died May 18 in Gadsden.

He was a graduate of Bethel College and Presbyterian Seminary in McKenzie, Tenn., and ministered 60 years in Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, Alabama and Mississippi. He attended East Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gadsden since retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Phelps; two sons, James Douglas Phelps of Kingston Springs, Tenn., and John Francis Phelps of Hawesville; a daughter, Donna Faye Fite of Columbia, miss.; eight grandchildren, Gregory Phelps of Kirkland, Wash., Scott Phelps of Kingston Springs, Tenn., John Bryan Phelps of Hawesville, Christopher Fite of Baton Rouge, La., James and Michael Fite of Columbia, Miss., Kimberly Welborn of Hawesville, and Anna Irene Fite of Columbia, Miss.; two brothers, Curtis Eugene Phelps of Marion and Rev. Hendrix was a retired mail carrier and farmer.

Thelma Teitloff, 86, of Smithland, died May 16 at Livingston Hospital. Funeral services will be held May 18 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Survivors include five sons, Jimmie Teitloff of Nashville, Bill Teitloff of Calvert City, Randall Teitloff of Jonesboro, Ark., Ishmael Teitloff of Salem and Jerry Teitloff of Calvert City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Daughtrey
Betty Ann James Daughtrey, 79, of South Bend, Ind., died April 30 at St. Joseph County Hospice.

Daughtrey was a former Marion resident and 1939 graduate of Marion High School.

Survivors include a son, Richard J. Daughtrey of Nokomis, Fla.; a daughter, Janice Ann Firtl of South Bend, Ind.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Daughtrey was preceded in death by her husband, James William Daughtrey, and her parents, Frank and Zoe James.

Trower
Golda Louise Trower, 67, of Jefferson City, Mo., died April 11 at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born in Tolu in 1932, the daughter of Gordon and Della Belt Winders. She was married in 1956 to Rev. J. Joseph Trower, who served as pastor at Crayne Presbyterian Church from 1954-1956.

She received an undergraduate degree from Union College in Barbourville and earned a master's degree in music from Evansville College. She taught business education and music at Crittenden County High School. She was a pianist for Hurricane Camp Meeting. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Hope; a volunteer naturalist at Runge Nature Center; and co-chair of the Wildlifer Quilters at Runge.

She served in three pastorates, including those at First Presbyterian Church of Kirksville; Presbyterian Church of Memphis; and Salem Presbyterian Church of Hope.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. J. Joseph Trower; two sons, Samuel Trower of New York City and Stephen Trower of Jefferson City; two daughters, Sara Trower of Jefferson City and Suzanna Trower of Shawnee, Kan.; a brother, Charles R. Winders of Vallejo, Calif.; a sister, Martha Helen Bischoff of Seguin, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Alexis Paige White, the infant daughter of Miranda and Ricky White of Marion, died May 6 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Timmons
Rev. Wallace Timmons, 80, formerly of Marion, died at 2 a.m., on April 26 at Crittenden Hospital.

Timmons, also formerly of Between the Rivers, was resident at Salem Springlake Care Center.

He was a member and former pastor of Marion Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are one son, Danny Timmons of Marion; and one sister, Mary Love Carnell of Apache Junction, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruvetta Timmons; three brothers; and one sister. His parents were Milton and Minnie Timmons.

Services were at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville on Friday with Rev. Harold Essery officiating. Burial was at Paradise Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes.

Schondelmeyer
Rev. Raymond Arthur Schondelmeyer, Jr., 81, formerly of Crittenden County, died April 22 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Mo.

He pastored several churches in Kentucky, including Crayne Presbyterian Church from 1946-1951.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Wade Schondelmeyer of Columbia; two sons, Dr. R. Wade Schondelmeyer and William Ray Schondelmeyer, both of Columbia; two daughters, Pamela Sue Brown of Ames, Iowa and Patricia Lee Nekula of St. Peters; a brother, Charles E. Schondelmeyer of Manchester, Mo.; two sisters, Barbara Ratcliff of Drexel, Mo., and Virginia Bridges of Independence, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 24 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City, Mo. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.

Charles Ercile Easley, 90, of Marion, died April 27 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

Bernice Lynn Houser, 92, of Marion, formerly of Huntsville, Ala., died April 26 at Livingston Hospital.

Surviving are a son, Tom Houser of Huntsville; a daughter, Lynda Cornish of Marion; two sisters, Faye Bailey of Dexter, Mo., and Floris Southerland of Park Hills, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Trower
Golda Louise Trower, 67, a native of Tolu, died April 11. She was a business education and music teacher at Crittenden County High School and later taught English and mathematics at Granger High School in Memphis, Mo. She also served as the pianist for many years at Hurricane Camp Meeting.

She and her husband, Rev. J. Joseph Trower, served three pastorates in Missouri in the last 33 years. Trower was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Morrison, Mo.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Samuel Trower of New York City and Stephen Trower of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Sara of Jefferson City and Suzanna of Shawnee, Kan.; a brother, Charles Ray Winders of Vallejo, Calif.; a sister, Martha Helen Bishoff of Seguin, Texas; two granddaughters; and one grandson.

Donald J. McCoy II, 38, of Lowder, Ill., died April 2 at his home. He was employed by Lowder Twp. as a laborer.

Neal
Funeral services for Laverne K. Neal were held at the chapel of Hill Crest Funeral Home April 18 in Bossier City, La., with burial in Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Neal was born in 1912 in Crittenden County, and was a resident of Bossier City for more than 50 years where she retired from teaching after 21 years. She was a life and charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bossier City.

Surviving are a niece, Teena Anderson of Nellysford, Va.; and a nephew, Dale Kemper of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Perry Lee Kemper of Lola; brothers Garland Kemper of Frankfort and Garvis Kemper of Lola and a sister, Mary M. Anderson of Lola.

James Arthur Fritts, 74, of Harrison, Ohio and formerly of Marion, died April 21.

Irwin
Richard "Mr. Dick" L. Irwin, 73, of Indianapolis, Ind., died April 20.

He is survived by his wife Barbara A. Drennan Butcher Irwin; two daughters, Stephanie Ann Irwin and Denise Michelle Irwin; a brother, Arthur E. Irwin Jr.; a stepsons, Alan Jay Butcher, and a stepdaughter, Raquel Renaee Butcher.

Irwin was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he was a trustee, lecturor, eucharistic minister, usher and educated the servers. He also taught boating and seaman safety at Lawrence Central High School.

Funeral services were held April 24 at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary and at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Patmor
Marian Jane Patmor, 72, of Hermitage, Tenn., formerly of Crittenden County, died April 18 at Summit Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held April 21 at Union Cemetery.

Funeral services for William H. "Bill" Allison, III, 76, of Fredonia, were held April 26 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Allison died April 24 at Lourdes Hosptial in Paducah. Rev. Mike Morris and Dr. Jerrell White officiated. Burial was in Norman Cemetery in Caldwell County.

John Butler, 67, of Eddyville, died April 19 at his home. He was born in Crittenden County and lived in Evansville a number of years where he owned John Butler Construction Company. He was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church, Joppa Masonic Lodge No. 167 in Eddyville, Starlight Chapter #471 Order of the Eastern Star in Eddyville and served as Master of Parkersville Masonic Lodge No. 484 in Lamasco.

Edmona Tabor, 85, of Marion, died April 25 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are four sons, Harold "Cotton" Tabor of Marion, Joe Tabor of Elm Grove, La., William "Bill" Tabor of Mexico and Edward "Cactus" Tabor of Marion; two daughters, Linda Kemper of Tolu and Edith Cronin of marion; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie Tabor, and a son, Freddie Tabor.

Mick
Nancy Lucas Mick, former publisher of The Crittenden Press, died 11:03 a.m., Sunday, at Crittenden Hospital after a short illness. She was 53.

A local school teacher for 20 years, Mick left the classroom in 1993 to take over daily operations at the newspaper, which had been in her husband's family for two generations.

Paul E. Mick, her first husband, had been publisher of the newspaper from 1969 until his death in 1990. His father, Evers, was the newspaper publisher before him.

Nancy Mick served as publisher from 1993 to 1997. In 1997, she left The Crittenden Press' daily operations to the family's next generation, daughter and son-in-law Allison and Chris Evans.

Mick grew up in Tolu where her family, the Lucases and Guesses, had lived for many years. In her weekly newspaper column, she fondly wrote about childhood ramblings around the tiny Crittenden County river town. She always remembered her roots and the rural upbringing that taught her many lessons in life. Mick's light-hearted column had appeared in The Press even after her retirement three years ago. She had written the weekly column up until last week when her health began to fail.

Mick re-married in 1993, to Marlin Travis of Crittenden County.

She was a past member of the Marion City Council, Western Kentucky Industrial Foundation, Marion Woman's Club and volunteered for various other community projects.

She was co-owner of the The Style Shop women's clothing store formerly in Marion and most recently operated a catering service, Taste of the Town.

A member of Marion United Methodist Church, Mick is survived by a husband, Marlin Travis; two daughters, Allison Evans of Marion and Andrea Mick of Bowling Green; a son, Lucas Mick at home; a grand-daughter, Meredith Evans of Marion; two stepdaughters, Shannon Handura and Sonya McKinley of Clarksville, Tenn.; a step-granddaughter, Rachel Handura of Clarksville, Tenn.; a step-grandson Jake McKinley of Clarksville, Tenn.; a son-in-law Chris Evans of Marion; two step sons-in-law James Handura and Jeff McKinley both of Clarksville, Tenn.; a niece, Leslie Morrow of Madisonville; a nephew, Brian Mick of Reno, Nev.; three great-nephews; and one great-niece.

Mick was born March 15, 1947, the daughter of Ollie Bryan and Frances Lucas of Tolu, both who preceded her in death.

Visitation was Monday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral was held Tuesday at Marion United Methodist Church with burial in Mapleview Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. Ken Spurrier and Rev. Les Chapman.

Pallbearers were Joey Blazina, David Hunt, David Hardin, Tanner Tabor, Brian Penn and Ryan Beavers.

Mary Anna Head, 65, of Frankfort died April 12 at her home.

She was a native of Ottawa, Kan., a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Frankfort.

Head is survived by her husband, Atha C. Head of Frankfort; two sons, Richard Andrew Head of Lexington and Mack Atha Head of Versailles; a daughter, Arlita Rhea Hays of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Arthur Colt of Frankfort; several nieces and nephews; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a step grandson; and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Hazel Madge Smith Colt; and a sister, Lorena Fayne.

James William "Fireball" Wilson, 80, of Marion, died April 16 at his home.

He served in the United States Army as a Tech IV Intelligence Specialist during World War II and made his career in the drywall construction business.

Woodford N. Brasher, 85, of Lake Station, Ind., died April 8 at St. Mary Medical Center.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church, retired M.O.D. Operator of U.S. Steel Sheet and Tin Division six standard cold reduction plant with 43 years of service. A veteran of WWII serving the U.S. Army Medical Detachment 27th Engineer Combat Battalion. He served in New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon with four bronze stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, Bronze Arrow Head and World War II Victory Medal.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Lucille Gray Brasher; a son, Woody Gray Brasher of Portage; a daughter, Phyllis L. Zych of Portage; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Nora Lou Fritts of Birmingham and Della Bozeman of Arlington, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgie J. and Nannie L. Brasher; a brother, Raymond Brasher; a sister, Lois Velds Oliver; and a grandson, Christopher James Zych.

Earl G. Writtenberry, 76, of Marion, formerly of Corydon, died April 6 at Western Baptist Hospital.

He attended Freedom Baptist Church, was a member of Marion Masonic Lodge 256, was a Kentucky Colonel, Shriner, and was the former volunteer fire chief of Corydon Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Writtenberry of Marion; six daughters, Kathy Williams of Marion, Linda Boster of Sebree, Glenda Moore and Paula Tipton, both of Henderson, Janey Webb and Carolyn Blanford, both of Dixon; a sister, Lorene Escue of Marion; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Larry D. Adams, 50, of Equality, Ill., were held April 8 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Adams died April 6 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Ill. He was a farmer.

Adams was born in Marion to Douglas "Pete" Adams and the late Peggy Sue Fuller Adams.

Sarah Wood, 56, of Grand Rivers, died April 5 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was a member of the Hallelujah Fellowship Church in Paducah.

Survivors include her husband, James M. Wood of Grand Rivers; two sons, Jamie Wood of Grand Rivers and Chester "Chet" Cissell of Paducah; a brother, Larry Thomas Coleman of Graves County; six sisters, Mary Ann Rives, Joyce Tucker, Betty Cope and Janice Wilkey, all of Paducah; Sue King of Symsonia and Pam Lucas of Marshall County; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

James Harold Cooper, 70, of Marion, died April 5 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Barnett Chapel Church.

Surviving are his wife Barbara Cooper; five sons, Harold Wayne Cooper, Glen Cooper, Bobby Herron, Donny Herron and Eddie Herron; two daughters, Brenda Limp and Patricia Mason; two sisters, Dorothy Stalions and Anna Ordway; a brother, Claud Cooper Jr.; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Cooper was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Opal Cooper and one sister.

Crouch
Irene Crouch, 76, of Ledbetter, died April 4 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City.

She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Les and Mattie Rednour Crouch.

Vinson
Ellis Vinson, 72, of the Walnut Grove community in Caldwell County, died April 10 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a retired dairy farmer.

Surviving are a son, Craig Vinson of Caldwell County; a daughter, Bernice Maroney of Crittenden County; four sisters, Elva McConnell and Lavine Rowland of Caldwell County and Linnie Ramey and Mary Ellen Scott of Madisonville; five grandchildren, Adam Maroney, Trenton Vied, Kenton Vied, Brooke Coleman and Jennifer McKinney; two great-grandchildren, Isaac Maroney and Austin McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

Vinson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tosh Vinson; a daughter, Teri Lee Vied; and a brother, Mitchell Vinson. His parents were Cecil and Rosa Rustin Vinson.

Gilmour
Dr. Brenda White Gilmour, 55, of Maryville, Mo., died April 9 at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville of complications from cancer.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., at Mapleview Cemetery April 15. Rev. Ken Spurrier will officiate.

Gilmour was born in Marion on Aug. 13, 1944. She attended Crittenden County schools, received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Kentucky and her Ph. D. from Pennsylvania State University. She taught home economics at several middle and high schools for eight years between 1966 and 1974. After receiving her Ph.D., she served as director of vocational planning for the Washington State Commission of Vocational Education from 1978-1982; director of vocational planning for the Maryland State Department of Education from 1982-1990; and coordinator of Operations Research and Analysis at the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education from 1990 until her death.

She was known nationally for her grasp of the federal vocational education statutes and her ability to collect and analyze information in support of decision making. From 1993 until 1999, she served on the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative, which advises the U.S. Commissioner for Educational Statistics.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Joseph E. "Tim" Gilmour of Maryville; a son, Jeffrey L. Gilmour of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Laura E. Gilmour of Richmond, Va.; her parents, Robert L. and Ada G. White of Marion; a sister, Linda W. Frazer of Shawnee Mission, Kan.,; and a brother, Dr. John R. White of Lexington.

Memorial services are also planned in Maryville, Mo and Columbia, Md.

Yandell
George F. Yandell, 81, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., died March 12 at his home. He was born May 19, 1918, in Salem. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Diamond Chain Company, Indianapolis, Ind., after 39 years as a union machinist. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Leesburg, Fla., and a lifetime member of Leesburg Boating Club. He moved to Cocoa Beach from Leesburg in 1996.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Yandell of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Sandra Kay of Sandusky, Ohio; a son, Stephen George of Apopka, Fla.; and two grandsons, Clay Shilling of Milan, Ohio and Jesse Yandell of Scoffield Barracks, Hawaii.

Louise Adams, 73, of Marion, died March 20 at Livingston Hospital.

Ollie Marion Scott, 69, of Cave In Rock, Ill., died April 2 at his home. He was a river boat pilot for the Cave In Rock Ferry.

Scott is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Scott of Cave In Rock; a daughter, Barbara Kay Scott of Cave In Rock; a sister, Frances Paulette Scott; and three brothers, Michael Scott, John Scott and George Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Marion and Bonnie Scott.

John Charles Chipps, 93, of Smithland, died March 29 at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah. He was a veteran of WW II and was a retired farmer and businessman.

Wright; two nephews, Billy Chipps of Smithland and Perry Chipps of Marion; three great nieces, Rebecca O'Brien of Wooster, Mass., Rachel King of Paducah and Heather Chipps of Paducah; and a great-grand nephew.

Chipps' parents were William E. and Annie Davis Chipps. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Klutey was a World War II veteran, past Master of Bigham Lodge 256 and Liberty Lodge 480, past Commander of Legion of Honor Rizpah Shrine Temple, past Worthy Patron of Marion Eastern Star Chapter 135.

Neel Martin, 71, of Marion, died March 25 at his home. He was a retired Army sergeant first class with 22 years of service. He also retired from Pyro Mining and owned and operated Midway TV Service for nine years.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Thelma Martin; a daughter, Diane Martin Bunner of Dublin, Ohio; two sons, John A. Martin of Murray and Scott J. Martin of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Underwood of Portland, Ore.; a niece, Cathy Tooley of Vancouver, Wash.; two great-nieces and two great-great nieces.

Martin was preceded in death by a son, Donald G. Martin, and his parents, Joe and Emily McCarty Martin.

Clarence "Junior" Jewell Jr., 69, of Dycusburg, died March 15 at his home.

Jewell was a retired equipment operator at SKW Alloys in Calvert City. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.

Jewell was a member of Dycusburg United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Dycusburg Masonic Lodge No. 232 in Dycusburg.

Gwendil "Sis" Baker, 83, of Fredonia, died March 15 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was a retired businesswoman and columnist for the Caldwell County Times, Princeton Leader and the Times-Leader. She was recognized as the official historian of Fredonia.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Bennett of Fredonia; two grandchildren, Mollie McGowan and John Bennett, both of Fredonia; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Baker; and her parents, Tom and Carrie DeBoe Ordway; and a brother, E.F. "Dugan" Ordway.

Neal Patton, 68, of Eddyville, died March 9 at his home. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Lyon County where he was a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was retired from Moore Business Forms in Marion and also from the Kentucky State Highway Department in Lyon County.

Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Patton of Fredonia, Tracy Patton of Marion; three brothers, Ralph Patton of Fredonia, Don Patton of Marion and Cliford Patton of Eddyville; a sister, Joyce Fritts of Eddyville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hunt Patton; two brothers, Garland Patton and Ross Patton, and his parents, Raymond and Mary Hobson Patton.

Carl, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, is survived by his wife, Shannon Caraway Carl of Marion; his father, Richard Carl of Jonesboro, Ark.; a son, Shawn Caraway of Crittenden County; three brothers, Vaughn Carl and Richard Carl, both of Jonesboro, Ark., and Steven Carl of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Crowden Carl.

Fuller
James Clarence Fuller, 64, of Walkerton, Ind., formerly of Marion, died March 7 at LaPorte County Hospital in LaPorte, Ind.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving in Vietnam and later served as a policeman in LaPorte.

Surviving are his wife, Dee Fuller of Walkerton; a son, Jimmy Fuller of Walkerton; two granddaughters; one grandson; two sisters, Ophelia Hodge of Marion and Lillian Stefanko of Chesterton, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Fuller; his parents, Lawrence and Jennie Fuller; a brother, Newton Fuller; and a sister, Margaret Myrick.

Burial was in Union Mills Cemetery in Union Mills, Ind.

Turley
Thelma L. Turley, 82, of Crown Point, Ind., died March 7.

Surviving are a son, Ron Turley of Greenwood, Ind.; a daughter, Faye Goodwin of Lowell; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a good friend and companion, Charles Kowal.

Turley was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Turley; a grandson Rick; her parents, Ida and Dudley Brown; five brothers; and one sister.

Turley was a retired machine operator from the Anderson Company with 25 years of service. She was a member of Hillside Community Church in Crown Point.

Committal services were held March 11 at Frances Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Thomas
Dorothy L. Thomas, 73, of Marion, died Feb. 26 at Crittenden Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Barnes of Marion; a sister, Magdalene Clark of Troy, Mich.; a brother, Shelby Bridwell of Marion; a granddaughter, Cindy Barnes of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Ray Thomas; her parents, Willie and Mary J. Bridwell; and two brothers.

Gobin
Dudley Gobin, 61, of Providence, died March 5 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was a retired building contractor, a member of the board of directors at Independence Bank and a member of the board of directors of the Fish and Game Club. He attended Providence General Baptist Church.

Gobin is survived by his wife, Della Gobin of Providence; a son, Troy Gobin of Marion; his mother, Gladys Gobin of Providence; and two grandchildren, Derrick Gobin and Andrew Gobin.

Services were held March 7 at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence with Barry Cullen officiating. Burial was in White Oak Cemetery near Providence.

Sisco
James Robert Sisco, 63, of Paducah, died March 3 at Tri County Hospital in LaGrange.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda Sisco of Paducah; two sons, Jimmy Sisco of Paducah and Terry Guess of Salem; two daughters, Susie Paris of Burna and Janet Sisco of Paducah; three brothers, Morris Sisco of Marion, Alvie Sisco of Burna and Charles Sisco of Fairbury, Ill.; three sisters, Eveline Curnel of Salem, Shirley Dalton of Tolu and Dorothy Guill of Marion; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Teer
James E. Teer, 80, formerly of Marion, died at his home in Dayton, Ohio March 5. He was a retired pipe insulator.

Teer served in World War II as a tail gunner in an Army Air Force Unit, based in the Panama Canal Zone.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Teer of Dayton; a son, James E. Teer, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; four sisters, Birdie Farmer, Helen Cullen and Betty Tabor, all of Marion and Katherine Fowler of Moorpark, Calif.; and three brothers, Tom Teer of Marion, Forrest Teer of Robards and Glenn Teer of Flint, Mich.

Teer was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Gussie Teer and a brother, R.C. Teer.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 9 at Fairview Baptist Church in Dayton. Burial will follow at Granny Thomas Cemetery in Greenup County, Ky.

Conyer
Mary Alice Young Conyer, 91, of Marion, died March 5 at Barren County Health Care Center in Glasgow.

Conyer spent 42 years as a teacher in Crittenden County. Affectionately referred to as Miss Mary, she spent her teaching years at Fairview, Lily Dale, Crayne, Mexico, Hebron and Marion Elementary.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church, the Retired Teacher's Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and a 60-year member of Marion Chapter 135 Order of the Eastern Star. Conyer was a former member of Crooked Creek Homemakers.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Conyer Rascoe of Bowling Green and Carolynn Conyer Wosoba of Louisville; four grandchildren; and three nieces.
Conyer was preceded in death by her husband, Lal Conyer.

Funeral services were held March 8 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

Carolyn Harris, 63, of Kuttawa, died Feb. 29 at her home.

Harris was a retired insurance agent of R.G. Harris Insurance Company, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a Lyon County Homemaker and a member of the Lyon-Caldwell Gideon's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Harris; two daughters, Susan Brown of Paducah and Lea Bozarth of Ledbetter; her mother, Mary Louise Cassidy Bennett of Eddyville; three brothers, Jim Bennett, Rex Bennett and Clifton "Tennie" Bennett, all of Lyon County; two sisters, Barbara Padgett of Lyon County and Ann Dorroh of Central City; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth Galia Wardlaw, 89,of Marion, died March 5 at Salem Springlake Care Center.

Wardlaw is survived by a daughter, Casey Winstead of Madisonville; three sons, John Wardlaw, Pat Wardlaw and Mike "Bud" Wardlaw, all of Marion; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Wardlaw.

Owen O'Bryan, 82, of Grand Rivers, died March 4 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

O'Bryan was retired from Airco-Carbide in Calvert City as a maintenance worker. He was a member of Grand Rivers United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Pearl Stafford O'Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Marilyn O'Bryan of Grand Rivers; a daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Charles Martin of Grand Rivers; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Henry O'Bryan of Grand Rivers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice O'Bryan; and a brother, Otis O'Bryan.

Winters
Funeral services for Hazel Winters, 88, of Kuttawa, were held Feb. 28 at Lakeland Funeral Chapel at Eddyville with Rev. Ted Yates officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery in Lyon County.

Winters died Feb. 26 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Surviving are four sons, Charles Edward Winters, John William Winters, Harold Junior Winters and Thomas Cash Winters, all of Louisville; four daughters, Willie Mae Brindley of Kuttawa, Christine Carroll of Paducah, Louise Hammons of Louisville and Joanne Hutchinson of Paducah; 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Winters was born in Caldwell County the daughter of Walter Wilson Moore and Leffa Mae McGoodwin Moore. She was a homemaker and attended Lyon County Senior Citizens Organization.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lawrence Winters, a daughter, Ruby Lee Phillips, four grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

Howard
Jewel Vaughn Howard, 81, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Marion and Evansville, died Feb. 27 at her home.

She was a graduate of Marion High School.

She is survived by two sisters, Allie Feller of Evansville; Martha Patmor of Marion; five brothers, J.B. Vaughn of Evansville, George Vaughn of Marion, Bruce Vaughn of California, Kelly Vaughn of Kansas City, Mo., and Rev. Gavin Vaughn of Hobbs, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard, and a son.

Memorial services were conducted by Rev. Gavin Vaughn with interment in Houston.

He was a retired carpenter and member and deacon of Second Baptist Church in Princeton.

Guy Reginald Travis, 79, of Sturgis, formerly of Marion, died Feb. 25. He was a veteran of WW II, was a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theater, Italian Campaign. He was comptroller for Illinois State University at Edwardsville, Ill., until his retirement. He later worked for Kurtz Auction Realty for two years.

Travis is survived by three sons, Guy Kimberly Travis of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Col. Gary Kenyon Travis of Falls Church, Va., and Grant Kevin Travis of San Francisco, Calif.; a brother, Douglas Travis of Paducah; two sisters, Shan Shiver of Wetumpka, Ala., and Jo Jenkins of Sturgis; and a grandson, Dustin Travis of Gulf Breeze.

Monahan
Jane Newcom Monahan, 73, of Morgantown, West Va., died Feb. 19. A memorial service was held Feb. 23 and private family graveside services were held at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown, West Va.

Monahan was a graduate of Marion High School and the Bowling Green Business University and held a bachelor's of science in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma. She was a real estate associate with Pat Stewart Agency for several years in Morgantown.

She was also a long-time member of the Ingleside Book Club in Morgantown, the former university faculty wives association and an active member of the Pines Women's Golf Association.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Monahan; two sons, W. Gregory Monahan of LaGrande, Ore., Joseph T. Monahan of West Virginia; two grandchildren, Andrew Gregory and Catherine Rutledge Monahan, both of LaGrande, Ore.; and a sister, Ann Cooper of Marion.

George "Buddy" Whitt, 58, of Marion, died Feb. 17 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of the Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Issac Jewell Knight, 67, of Marion died Feb. 21 at his home.

Knight was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. He was a retiree of Alcan Aluminum.

Gibson
Malcom Gibson, 89, of Providence died Feb. 22 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was a well-known livestock dealer and auctioneer. He was a partner with his late brother, Shirley Gibson, in the Gibson Brothers Livestock Company in Providence. He conducted auctions in Kentucky and surrounding states for many years. He was also well-known in the Quarter Horse industry. He trained and showed Quarter Horses and enjoyed trail riding. Gibson was a member of Slover Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Anne Conrad of Providence; a son, Mack Gibson of Providence; three grandchildren, Suzanne Kuester, John Conrad and Sarah Gibson; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at First Baptist Church in Providence with Rev. Billy Carter and Rev. William Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Big Hill Cemetery in Providence.

William "Bill" C. Kiebler, 74, of Paducah died Feb. 2 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

He was a retiree of Paducah Area Vocational School. Kiebler was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorris Kiebler of Paducah; two daughters, Sharon Kiebler of Paducah and Judy Riley of Grand Rivers; five sons, Kerry Kiebler, Ricky Kiebler, Johnny Kiebler, Bobby Kiebler and Eddy Kiebler, all of Paducah; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Ruby Gass, 85, of Marion died Feb. 6 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

Gass was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gass, and two daughters.

Paul Dempsey, 92, of Brighton, Mich., formerly of Sturgis and Eddyville, died Feb. 4 at his home in Brighton.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Dempsey of Brighton; a daughter, Nina Murry of Brighton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Julia Naomi Woods Hina, 87, of Maryville, Tenn., died Jan. 22 following a brief illness. She was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church.

Hina was the widow of Joseph Weldon Hina of Marion. The family lived at the Lafayette Mines in Frances. Hina was a graduate of Maryville College and taught at Marion High School.

Survivors include two daughters, Marian Hina Stuart of Knoxville; Janet Hina Clarke of Dayton, Tenn.; and a son, Edward B. Hina of Brevard, N.C.

Melva Dean Chittenden, 72, of Joy, died Jan. 30 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years.

Chittenden attended Murray State University and was a former school teacher and retired secretary at Hampton Elementary School.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Lucian Chittenden of Joy; a daughter, Shirley Merritt of Benton; three sons, Louis Chittenden of LaCenter, Barry Chittenden of Hampton and Gary Chittenden of Salem; a brother, Eugene Threlkeld of Salem; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Walker
Lewis Doug Walker, 78, of Kuttawa died Jan. 18 at his home.

Walker was a retired supervisor from Airco Alloys and Carbide in Calvert City. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Walker served eight years in Guam and Panama in the United States Air Force as staff sergeant for the 498th bomb group. He received two bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Walker; five sons, Richard Walker of San Francisco, Calif., Kevin Walker of Eddyville, Stewart Walker of Kuttawa; Steve Wallace of Lakeland, Fla., Shannon Wallace of Lakeland; two brothers, Lois Walker of Lafayette, Colo., Linville Walker of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Zula Kinnis of Marion; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Uriah "Jack" Dixon, 64, of Petersburg, Ind., formerly of Crittenden County, died Jan. 24 at his home.

Dixon was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Mission of Faith Church.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara Pendley; a daughter, Kimberly Elder of Evansville; four sons, Phillip Dixon and Roger Dixon, both of Petersburg, Thomas Dixon of Winslow, Ind., and Mark Arnold of Evansville; a sister, Nellie Osborn of Evansville; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

William Wring, 68, of Interlachen, Fla., formerly of Marion, died Jan. 14 at his home.

Wring was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of VFW Post #10164 in Interlachen. He was retired from U.S. Steel.

Wring is survived by his wife, Anna Wring, of Interlachen; a daughter, Cheryl Morgan of Gainesville, Fla.; four sons, William Wring, Jr., of Chesterton, Ind., Wade Wring of Palatka, Fla.; James Wring of Lake Butler, Fla.; Robert Wring of Virginia Beach, Va.; four sisters, Alois Gill of Paducah, Helen Black of Crown Point, Ind., Dot Vaughn of Paducah and Kay Coberly of Keokuk, Iowa; a brother, C.R. Fritts was a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. He was a World War II Veteran and served during the European Campaign in the 345th Signal Wing. He was also the owner of Fritts Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Evelyn Fritts of Marion; a daughter, Cindy Watson of Marion; three sons, Eddie Fritts and Ronnie Fritts, both of Marion and William Fritts of Evansville, Ind.; three brothers, Hollis Fritts of Daytona Beach, Fla., Kenneth Fritts of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Orlan Fritts of South Dakota; three grandchildren, Derek Fritts of Evansville, Jesse Fritts and Mary Watson, both of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia Crider King, 88, of Maryville, Tenn., formerly of Marion died Jan. 12.

King was a member of the first Marion High School Championship girls' basketball team.

She is survived by three children; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Local survivors include Ruth Patmor, Miley Hill and A.T. Crider families.

King was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Maud Hill Crider. Mr. Crider was part owner of T.H. Cochran & Co. in Marion.

Weeks
Allie LeFan Weeks, 87, of Princeton, died Jan. 13 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Weeks was a retired seamstress and was a retiree of the Cumberland Management Company. She was a member of Saratoga United Methodist Church in Lyon County.

She also served as a volunteer at Princeton Health Care Manor in Princeton for several years.

She is survived by three brothers, William LeFan of Louisville, Sanders LeFan of Marion and W.C. LeFan, Jr. of LaGrange; a sister, Dorothy Dyer of Basket; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

James N. "Nick" Guess, 77 of Henderson, formerly of Princeton, died Jan. 8 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

Guess was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, the Elks Lodge #206 in Henderson, retired from Kentucky Utilities Company, a Kentucky Colonel, and a Marine veteran of World War II having served on the U.S.S. Massachusetts.

Winders officiating. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery.

Reynolds
Boyd Lewis Reynolds, 87, of Salem, formerly of Hanson, died Jan. 5 at Salem Springlake Care Center.

Reynolds was a retired farmer. He was a member of Providence Rural United Methodist Church.

He is survived by several cousins.

Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Blanch Reynolds.
Services were held Jan. 6 at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Archie Oliver officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery in Hanson.

Perkins
Lori Gilland Perkins, 33, of Dycusburg, died Jan. 4 at Caldwell County Hospital.

She is survived by a son, Mason Shane Perkins at home; her parents Vernon and Linda Gilland of Fredonia; a brother, Jonathon Gilland of Fredonia; her grandmothers, Mae Gilland of Fredonia and Willene Woodall of Marion; a niece; a nephew; and several aunts and uncles.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crayne Cemetery.
