CCHS honors academic success
The Crittenden County High School cafeteria was full of the brightest and most studious students gathering with teachers, families and community members last week to celebrate the commitment they put forth in the classroom this year with a dinner and awards ceremony.

Man dies in Tuedsay accident
A 31-year-old Marion man died in a single-vehicle accident at about 10:30 p.m., Tuesday night on Sisco Chapel Road (Ky. 2123) near the intersection of Nesbitt Hollow Road. The victim was Ricky D. Bradham, who was traveling northbound in his 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup when it went off the shoulder of the highway then crashed. Crittenden County Rescue Squad extricated the victim after the coroner was called to the scene. Coroner Joe Myers said Bradham was partially ejected from the vehicle and died of blunt force trauma.
Deputy Don Perry, who investigated the accident, said Dr. Greg Maddux was on the scene of the accident soon after it happened because he lives nearby. It is believed that Bradham died on impact. He was not wearing a seat belt.
There was another traffic accident Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 641 near the county line that injured a Louisiana woman, Linda Gylbert. She was taken to Crittenden Hospital with minor injuries. The highway was blocked for about an hour.
