Rockets win across the river
A strong 7-of-17 performance from behind the arc propelled the
Rockets to a 60-45 road win at Hardin County, Ill.
Rocket sophomore guards Timmy Hill and Payton Croft combined for
five of those treys while leading the scoring attack.
Hill led the way with 18 points and Croft had 14. The Rockets
jumped out to a 14-8 lead with 1:50 left in the first quarter
and never looked back.
After claiming a double-digit advantage a few seconds later, Crittenden
was never threatened the rest of the way, leading by as many as
20 points.
Coach Croft was pleased with the way his troops came out and took
care of business.
He commended his team's defensive intensity in holding the hosts
to just 45 points and only 2-for-10 from long range.
The Rockets finished 9-of-15 from the charity stripe after starting
off 2-for-8 in that department.
