Maroons outlast Rockets

Crittenden County played a much more competitive game this time, losing 70-58 in a game that was even closer than the final score indicated.

It was a stark contrast from the first time the Rockets played Madisonville this year, when they lost 67-50 to the Maroons during the Daviess County Tournament. In that first meeting, Madisonville dominated the game from the outset.

At Marion Tuesday night, Crittenden trailed by three at the half and was still within three points with less than six minutes in the game, but just couldn't get over the hump.

Sean Thompson, starting for the first time this season because of a hand injury to Nick Parker, led the team with 16 points. It was also a season-high for the junior forward, who added seven rebounds. Cody Robinson came off the bench to pitch in 10 points and 10 boards.
