Kinnis
Joe Kinnis, 57, of Dycusburg, died Dec. 12, 2006 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a retired correctional officer for the Kentucky State Penitentiary, a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of Frances Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda; two sons, John Allen Kinnis of Smyrna, Tenn., and Tony Freeman Kinnis of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two brothers, Stan Kinnis of Kuttawa and Mike Kinnis of Eddyville; a sister, Betty Hooks of Eddyville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcella Ann Grimes Kinnis; and his parents, Freeman Kinnis and Dorothy Loretta Perryman Kinnis.
Services were Dec. 15 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Lonnie Knight and Rev. Roger Waters officiating. Burial was in Dycusburg Cemetery.
Watson, 100
SALEM, Ky. – Grace Watson, 100, died Dec. 13, 2006 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of New Union General Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Vivian Lucille Little of Evansville and Billie (Earl) Royal of Cincinnati; two sons, Reggie (Helen) Watson and Raymond (Mary Lou) Watson, both of Evansville; two daughters-in-law, Sylvia Watson and Joyce Watson, both of Salem; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy R. Watson; four sons, Ralph Watson, Mark Watson, Richard Watson, Ronnie Watson; a daughter, Carol Ann Watson; two brothers; and five sisters.
Services were Dec. 16 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. David Davis and Rev. Tim Fouts officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Hoffman
OWENSBORO, Ky. – Mary Elizabeth Butler Hoffman, 88, died Dec. 15, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of Third Baptist church where she taught Sunday school and church training.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Franklin Hoffman; five sons, Donald R. (Marge) Hoffman of Philpot, Ronald Gene Hoffman of Florida, Lloyd K. “Ken” (Bonnie) Hoffman, Dennis W. (Connie) Hoffman; and Richard D. “Rick” (Gayla) Hoffman, all of Owensboro; a daughter, Linda Katherine Hoffman (Ricky) Brown of Marion; a brother, Dr. LaVerne (Shirley) Butler of Lexington; a sister, Martha Ann Butler (Martin) Wilson of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Francele Butler Mitchell and Cecil Butler Farley; a brother, Willis Garland Butler. Her parents were Willis Cosby Butler and Linda Mae Cosby Butler.

CAVE IN ROCK, Ill. – Mary Esta McConnell Pearson, 99, died Dec. 19, 2006. She was a member of Cave In Rock United Methodist Church, a retired teacher with 28 years service in the Cave In Rock School System, a 50-year member of Cave In Rock Eastern Star, member of Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Hardin County Retired Teachers Association, Hardin County Historical Society, Golden Circle Senior Citizens of Hardin County and Ladies Auxiliary of World War II Veterans.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Ledbetter of Cave In Rock; a son-in-law, Clarence “Joe” Ledbetter of Cave In Rock; a granddaughter, Chris (Lowell “Butch”) Gowins of Rosiclare, Ill.; a great-granddaughter, Nancy (Tim) Turpin of Evansville; and a great-great-grandson, Taylor Turpin of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pearson; four brothers, Ellis McConnell, Cyrus McConnell, Everett McConnell and Richard McConnell, Jr.; and a sister, Gladys McConnell. Her parents were Richard and Olive Bertie Alexander McConnell, Sr.

LOLA, Ky. – Floyd G. “Dick” Shoemaker, 86, died Dec. 16, 2006 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of New Union General Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Dorothy R. Shoemaker; a daughter, Sharon (Denny) Holloran of Demotte, Ind.; a grandson, Jimmy Holloran of Demotte; three nieces, Lorna (Darren) Spender of Broken Arrow, Okla., Julie Shoemaker of Nevada and Jeannie Shoemaker; two nephews, David Kerwin of Springfield, Ill., and Charles Kerwin of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Karen Shoemaker of Orland Park, Ill.

Henderson
Rev. Thomas Edward Henderson, 84, of Harrisonburg, Va., died Dec. 9, 2006 at Sunnyside Retirement Community.
He was a former pastor in Marion and Crayne. He served in the 49th Armored Infantry and was wounded in the Battle from the Rhur to the Rhine rivers during World War II. He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Genette Buchanan; two sons, David E. Henderson of Chesire, Conn., and John F. Henderson of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Doris A. Henderson of Fort Washington, Md.; and two granddaughters.
Services were Dec. 17 at Meredith Chapel at Sunnyside Retirement Community with burial in Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church Cemetery in Harrisonburg.

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – John Edward Wring, 86, died Dec. 9, 2006 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. He was born in Salem, served in the U.S. Army in World War II, was an electrician and of Methodist faith.
Services were Dec. 12, 2006 at Lamb Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West.

Hardin died Dec. 11 at Lourdes Hospital. She attended Maranatha Baptist Church.

Raymond August Montalta, 77, of Marion and formerly of Kankakee, Ill., died Dec. 5, 2006 at Livingston Hospital.

James Trice Perryman, 86, of Marion, died Dec. 3, 2006 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ovella Perryman; a son, Larry Perryman of Merrillville, Ind.; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Perryman of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Jane Perryman; a daughter, Debbie Perryman; and three brothers. His parents were Jess and Myrtle May Wiggins Perryman.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Joyce Jerome of Newburgh, Ind.; a brother, Dennis Croft of Salem; a sister, Melva Shouse of Lola; two sisters-in-law, Anna May Croft of Evansville and Mary Croft of Salem; four grandchildren, McKayla Jerome Bohanna of Charleston, S.C., Timothy E. Jerome of Evansville, Jeffrey P. Joyce of Manassas, Va., and Mark D. Joyce of Placerville, Calif.; two great-granddaughters, Caroline E. Gass was a member of Ambassadors for Christ Church, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War and was a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Marion.

Milton
Services for Eulah Olive Cook Milton, 94, of Marion, were Nov. 17, 2006 at Lola Pentecostal Church. Rev. Tim Fouts officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
She died Nov. 15 at Crittenden County Health & Rehab.
Milton once directed a 23-piece orchestra at Bethel Chapel Church where her father pastored. She and her husband Floyd ministered seven churches and were evangelists at many revivals. They retired to Dover, Tenn., but returned to Marion in their later years.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Floyd Milton; two daughters, Velva Belt of Granite City, Ill., and Sharon Belt of Marion; three grandchildren, Sharie Frazer of Marion, Boyce Belt of Granite City, Ill, and LaVonna Ennis of Nigeria, West Africa; eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Adrianne and Lee of Granite City, Jordan, Johnathan and JoHanna of Nigeria and Tucker and Regan Frazer of Marion.
Her parents were Rev. Ralph Cook and Lena Oliver Angelo.

HAMPTON, Ky. – Barger O’Neal Day, 80, died Nov. 15, 2006 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of American Legion Post 217 at Burna.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Kathryn Day; a granddaughter, Chandra Ladd of Gilbertsville; two sisters, Dorothy McReynolds of Gilbertsville and Phyllis Ramage of Hampton; three great-grandchildren, Garrett Moberly and Brian Ladd, both of Murray, and Brandon Ladd of Gilbertsville; one great-great-grandson, Bryce Ladd of Gilbertsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Dickerson; and his parents, Courtney and Ora Mars Day.

SACRAMENTO, Ky. – Blanche Martin Johnston, 84, died Nov. 7, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Crittenden County and was a seamstress for J.C. Penney for 15 years. She was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Curtis Hardison of Greenville and Bobby Hardison of Sebree; a sister, Clarice Sandefur of Fancy Farm; a brother, Rayburn Martin of Springfield, Ill.; a stepson, Billy Gene Johnston of Greenville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Mendal Johnston; two brothers, Robert Martin and Armond Martin; and her parents, Curtis Martin and Hattie Brown Martin.
A graveside service was held Nov. 20 at Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements.
Easley
Mary Edna Fritts Easley, 93, of Marion, died Nov. 16, 2006 at Crittenden Health & Rehab. She was born in the Piney Fork Community of Crittenden County and graduated from Mattoon High School and Murray State University.
She spent many years teaching school in Crittenden County. Following the closing of the U.S. Steel Lafayette Mines, she moved to Gary, Ind., again teaching until she retired to Marion with her husband. She was a longtime member of Marion Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended First Presbyterian Church in Lake Station, Ind., while living in Gary. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Marion and a 30-year member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty (late Charles) Henley of Bradenton, Fla.; a son-in-law, Bill Garnett of Lafayette, Ind.; four grandchildren, Billy and Mark Henley, Bobbby Garnett and Lisa Livesay; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Hobgood of Henderson; a brother, R.L. Gipson of Bloomington, Ind.; two nephews, Bruce McEuen of Princeton and Randal McEuen of Hobart, Ind.; and two nieces, Loetta Riddle and Janice Coleman, both of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, R.D. Fritts and Raymond Easley; a daughter, Jetta Garnett; and three brothers. Her parents were Luther and Myrtle Gipson.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – James C. “Jim” Little, 83, died Nov. 19, 2006 at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Crittenden County, graduated from Mattoon High School and was a member of the United Church of Christ. He retired in 1983 from the Indiana State Excise Police after 29 years of service, holding the rank of lieutenant for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Merridy Ellerbusch Little; two daughters, Julia A. Johnson and Melinda S. Jarboe, both of Evansville; a brother, Darrel Little of Bloomington, Ind.; five grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lola M. Thomas Little and Thomas E. Little; and a sister, Earlene Benham McKim.
Services were Nov. 22 at Boone Funeral Home in Evansville with entombment in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Rosa Lee Croft, 82, of Marion, died Nov. 16, 2006 at Crittenden Health & Rehab. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jimmy Croft of Marion; two daughters, Linda Valentine and Brenda Croft, both of Paducah; a brother, Jimmy Lemon of Marion; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

CRAYNE, Ky. – William E. “Butch” Stewart, 56, died Nov. 8, 2006 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of the Marion VFW Post.

EDDYVILLE, Ky. – William F. “Nub” Simpkins, 75, died Nov. 7, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church and sang in the Goodnewsmen Quartet.

Hardin died Nov. 12 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Ledbetter United Methodist Church.

Chester L. Knight, 84, of Marion, died Nov. 12, 2006 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Joyce of Henderson, Glen Joyce of Marion and Jimmy Joyce of Nashville; a sister, Lucille Fisher of El Dora, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wayne Brooks; and a granddaughter.

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Robert E. Baldauf, 78, died Oct. 6, 2006 at Wedgewood in Winter Haven.
Prior to retirement, he was the president of Ceratech, Inc., of Marion, and vice president of Flamingo Tile Corporation in Lake Wales, Fla. He attended Ohio State University and was a captain in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a charter member of Lake Wales Lutheran Church, and was active in many community organizations, serving as president of the Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Wales Band Association, the Lake Wales Junior High PTA and the VFW. He was a member of Lake Wales Country Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Parker; three sons, Andy Baldauf, John Baldauf and Robert M. Baldauf; two brothers, James A. Baldauf and Thomas J. Baldauf; a sister, Ruth Tyack; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Deloris.

Foster was a true “foster mom” to many children. She has many nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Wallace Foster; a son, Neal Lee Foster of Florida; a sister, Ruby Barfield of Marion; a grandson, Neal Lee Foster Jr., of Massachusetts; a niece, Susan Barfield of Marion; and two nephews, Jimmie Bigham and Clinton Bigham of Marion; and several cousins.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a lifetime member of VFW Post #1114 and a Korean War veteran. He was a welder and construction worker and taught welding.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hazel Mae (Schiff) Cannon; his children, Eugene E. Cannon, Jr. of Brazil, Ind., Deborah DeLaney of Evansville, Mark Cannon of Louisville, Cheryl Voegel, David Cannon and Steven Cannon, all of Evansville, Linda Fornear of Plano, Texas and John Cannon of Evansville; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Tucker of Evansville and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Claude; his parents, Claude and Geneva Cannon; a sister, Dorothy Wirthwein; a grandson, Billy and a nephew, Lewis.

John Virgil Sanders, Sr., 79, of Marion died Sept. 10, 2006 at his home.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include two sons, John Sanders, Jr., of Madisonville and William Sanders of Crayne; two daughters, Beth Todd of Marion and Joan Hargis of Slidell, La.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Mae Jennings Sanders.

BROWDER, Ky. – Charles W. Eades, 80, died Aug. 17, 2006 at Muhlenburg Community Hospital in Greenville. He worked in the Hughes Kirk School System as a teacher, principal, basketball coach and administrator until he retired in 1988. He was the only coach to take Hughes Kirk to the Sweet 16 of the Kentucky High School Basketball Tournament, and he had attended the state tournament for 51 years straight. He owned a farm in Crittenden County.
Survivors include several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eura and Addie “Hughes” Eades, formerly of Crittenden County, and a sister.

BURNA, Ky. – Leon Phillip Massey, 90, died Aug. 18, 2006 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having worked in the military post office in France. He was a member of the American Legion Burna Post #217, the Veteran of Foreign Wars and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a rural mail carrier for 40 years and a retired farmer. He was a charter member of Central Baptist Church where he served as treasurer, secretary and trustee.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Willie Chittenden Massey; a sister, Carlene Kemper of Salem; an aunt, Alberta Beggs of Reidland; several nieces and nephews.

He retired as business manager of Methodist Hospital after 25 years and was a member of Keck Avenue Southern Baptist Church in Evansville, the Methodist Hospital volunteer board, a music staff member at Keck Avenue Baptist Church and was a founding member of the Southlanders Quartet. He was known as the Silver Fox.

Services for Mary Etta Koon, 87, of Marion, were held Aug. 14, 2006 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Cortis Hill officiated. Burial was in Tyner’s Chapel Cemetery.
Koon died Aug. 11 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Frances Holliman of Salem; a son, William Jake Koon of Marion; a brother, Jimmy George of Dixon; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Wayne Koon; her husband, Jake Koon; four brothers; and two sisters. Her parents were Herman George and Driskill Conyer George.

Dorothy Nell Bebout, 74, of Marion, died Aug. 12, 2006 at her home. Services were Aug. 16 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Starrick officiating. Burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Marion and a former member of Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield.
Surviving are three daughters, Paula Oliver of Fredonia, Patricia Brown of Mayfield and Phyllis Martin of Marion; a son, Stephen Bebout of Paducah; two sisters, Mildred Jones of Marion and Blonda Minner of Marion; a brother, Doyle Sherer of Marion; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Pearl Sullenger Sherer; a brother; and three sisters.
Eigel
TANGENT, Ore. - Peggy A. Eigel, 60, died Aug. 9, 2006 at her home. She was born in Sturgis, Ky., and moved to Oregon in 1990. She was a lifelong volunteer, mostly at her church and through Greater Albany Public Schools at the Albany Education Center. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Albany second ward.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne E. Eigel; two daughters, Ann Cisneros of Monmouth, Ore., Rebecca Eigel of Tangent, Ore., and Stephen Eigel of Salem, Ore.; her mother Margaret Berry of Salem; two brothers, James Harold “Red” Berry of Marion and Carroll Berry of Salem; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; and a sister, Mary Berry.
Services were Aug. 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with burial at Willamette Memorial Park.

Leonard D. Gibson, 65, of Crittenden County, died Aug. 11, 2006 at Western Baptist Hospital. He operated a mechanic shop in Clay for 22 years
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Bessie Gibson; four daughters, Karen Godbehere of Sullivan, Regina McKeown of Dixon, and Patricia Kurtz and Katie Kirk, both of Crittenden County; a son, Jerry Gibson of Clay; three sisters, Mary Newcom and Carolyn Ashby, both of Clay, and Sue James of Sturgis; a brother, Darrell Gibson of Crittenden County; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Katie Gibson; five brothers, Hubert Gibson, Kurt Gibson, Donnie Gibson, Calvin Gibson and J.V. Gibson; and a sister, Pearl Summers.

Owens
WAVERLY, Ky. – Elmer Owens, 64, died Aug. 11, 2006 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Owens; a daughter, Pam Owens of Marion; a son, Billy Owens of Dixon; a sister, Lois Price of Kentucky; a brother, Rondal Owens of Kentucky; and two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cordia Owens.
Services were Aug. 15 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Jerry Manning officiating. Burial was in Boxville Cemetery.

Waters
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Major Frank Langford Waters, 88, died Aug. 8, 2006. He was born and raised in Marion and was a graduate of Crittenden County High School.
Waters served in the Kentucky National Guard until 1939 when he enlisted with the Army Air Corp. He flew combat missions in Europe during World War II as a radar operator, navigator and bombardier. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal three times. He retired in 1960.
After his retirement from the Air Force, he became a Plantation, Fla., businessman and later worked for the Florida Turnpike Authority. He was a volunteer with Boy Scouts of America and the Association of Retarded Citizens for many years. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, Military Officers Association of America and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Corabelle “Connie” Waters; a son, Frank L. Waters, Jr.; two daughters, Fay Boyle and Mary Ridgway; five grandchildren; a niece, Margaret “Peggy” Howton of Marion, and nephew, James L. Rhem of Madison, Wisc.
Preceding him in death were five brothers and a sister, including Margaret Rhem of Marion and Lt. Colonel J.I. Waters.
Services were Aug. 12 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Pompano Beach, Fla. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

Roy Kenneth “Kenny” Sills, 65, of Marion, died Aug. 6, 2006 at Crittenden Health Systems. He was a member and deacon of Marion Baptist Church and a retired industrial engineer.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Watson Sills; two daughters, Letitia Goolsby of Marion and Felicia Maxfield of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
His parents were Roy and Edna Kirk Sills.

Edward L. Reynolds, 80, of Marion, died Aug. 2, 2006 at Livingston Hospital.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Shirley Reynolds; three sons, Lee R. Reynolds and Jake Reynolds, both of Marion, and Edward Reynolds of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Connie McReynolds and Jerri Doscher, both of Marion; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

DECATUR, Ala. – Graveside services for Margaret Curnel, 81, formerly of Livingston County, were held Aug. 4, 2006 at Lola Cemetery. She died Aug. 2 at Decatur Health and Rehab Center. She was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are four sons, Alton Curnel of Arab, Ala., Roger Curnel of Plano, Texas, Melvin Curnel of Decatur, Ala., and Stan Curnel of Hartselle, Ala.; a daughter, Patti Jo Curnel of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Charles Black of Marion and Mike Black of Hartselle, Ala.; a sister, Grace Scheffer of Richmond; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Terry
ST. CHARLES, Ill. – Homer H. Terry, 90, died July 22, 2006 at Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. He was active with Masonic Lodge 404, Batavia United Methodist Church and Batavia Food Pantry.
He was born in Marion and left Kentucky in 1930s to join family in Illinois. During the war, he worked at Capitol Furniture and Furnas Electric Co. He later farmed west of Batavia until retiring in 1970. He then worked in the maintenance division at Easton Plastic Co.
Surviving are is wife, Genevieve Terry; a sister, Clara Kleiderer of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Dennis Terry of Coraopolis, Pa.; two daughters, Susan Klink of Oak Park, Ill., and Kathy Abernathy of Batavia; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents were Rev. Uri and Alice Terry.
A memorial service was held July 27 at Batavia United Methodist Church.

Verscia Kirk, 101, of Marion, died Aug. 6, 2006 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. She was the oldest member of Sulpher Springs Baptist church.
Surviving are two granddaughters, Brenda (Ed) Hazzard of Frisco, Texas and Linda (Kenneth) Waters of Eddyville; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Kirk of Marion; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kellie Kirk; a son, Allen “A.C.” Kirk; and a grandson, Stephen Kirk.
Graveside services were Aug. 8 at Fredonia Cemetery with Rev. John Baker officiating.

Jeffery Lynn Hopper, 34, died Aug. 2, 2006 in an automobile accident in Owensboro. A private burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery Aug. 3 in Owensboro. McGinnis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He attended Calhoun Pentecostal Church and was a deckhand for 16 years. Most recently he was employed by PMI in Owensboro.
Surviving are his mother, Donna Sue Tabor of Burna; his father, Steve Hopper of Owensboro; his maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Mamie Lois Barnes and George Barnes of Burna; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. James Hopper of Owensboro; two aunts, Brenda Jewell Tabor of Smithland and Betty Lois Brown of Marion; an uncle, Tom Tabor of Burna; several cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Coy Clifton Tabor and James Hopper; and an uncle, J.C. Tabor.
